the following photomosaics were generated as an experiment. each image was generated from a large number of "archive" images which were then fit to the input image using a variety of different algorithms based losely on some 2d image tracking work i had done previously.
i developed the system using the sidefx image libarary for convenience and rapid prototyping. execution times varied between 5-20 hours on an SGI R4400 250mhz.
